Our History & Mission The Centre for Western Australian History was established in 1985 by the University of Western Australia. Its aim: to encourage and assist individuals and groups interested in researching and writing Western Australian history to the highest professional standard. In 2006 we celebrated 21 years of operation. See our Publication List for a record of some of the tangible achievements over the years.
Our Services At the Centre, we have professionals on hand to give advice, help you choose a researcher, supervise your research program, or even manage the entire project for you. If you invite the Centre to become involved, our consultancy fees will be based on the complexity and length of your project. Contact Us to discuss your project and/or request further information. Our Journal & Subscription Membership In conjunction with UWA Press, we publish the journal Studies in Western Australian History. See Membership for details of a subscription to Studies. Members also receive our free biannual Newsletter. All articles and reviews
in the full series of Studies in Western Australian History are grouped and listed according to their subject matter. Click here to access this valuable research tool. Prospective contributors should see the Studies Style Sheet and the CWAH Copyright Licence Sample. Theses on WA History Topics The Centre has compiled a list of completed theses on WA History topics from all Western Australian universities. All endeavours were made to make this list as comprehensive as possible. Current Projects The Centre is in the final stages of co-ordinating the compilation of the Historical
Encyclopedia of Western Australia which we believe will be of immense
value to historians and anyone interested in Western Australian
history. We are also managing histories of Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital; Government House; a Centenary History of UWA; and an oral history for the RSPCA (WA).
An exciting new project is the history of the Town of Victoria Park. Contact UsPlease Contact Us for further information on how the Centre for Western Australian History can assist you. |
